5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
On 3rd October, our students learnt about Gravity and its impact on everyday life, by Mr Samar Bagchi. He demonstrated how gravity works on us by showing experiments with everyday objects and actions that students can try on their own.
Samar Bagchi is a recipient of the National Award for the popularization of science through the media. A former Director of the Birla Industrial & Technological Museum, he conducted the popular innovative science quiz called ‘Quest’ on Doordarshan from 1983 to 1988. Like Brahmanand Swain, Klorofeel’s own Science Mentor, he has conducted 300 science workshops across the country.
Klorofeel School is grateful to Filix School, our partner school, for organizing this, and for inviting our students into this program. It has been the endeavour of Klorofeel School to create such opportunities for our students and tickle their curiosity. We believe our students benefit from such exposure and it will lead them to think and question about topics they were unaware of – and hopefully be inspired to learn more and inquire more about new concepts they get exposed to.
Such approach to science ensures our students immerse themselves into deep concepts in an inspired manner, and try to understand science by trying experiments on their own. Science must not be reduced to a set of formulae we need to remember, we need to “feel” science in our daily lives.
