Perspectives

Dr Sastry Duri works for Facebook in New York state. Earlier, he has worked in IBM’s T J Watson Research Centre. Sastry has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Sastry’s goal is to figure out ways to help children learn without teaching.

For the last 15 years, Dr Sastry has been coaching middle school children for FIRST Lego League competitions. This activity nicely complements the academic training that students receive at school with open-ended design of a robot and researching a solution to a real-world problem.

Dr Duri Sastry has kindly consented to coaching Klorofeel School students in Robotics.
