Klorofeel School is delighted to announce the recognition of our students K. Chakresh (Class 8) and Subhran Patnaik (Class 6) at the National Level CBSE Science Exhibition. Under the mentorship of faculty at school, they developed an Eco Tile – a tile from plastic waste.
The “Eco Tile” could absorb significant shocks, withstand fire and it is waterproof also. Initial tests showed that the tile could handle around 150 MPa and the tiles we use at home can handle around 45 MPa. So, the team reviewed the composition and reduced plastic in the tiles and changed the ratios. This could bring the strength to around 50 MPa. With this project, the team participated in the Regional Science Exhibition at Bhubaneswar where they became the winner in the Waste Management category.
They got selected for the National Level Science Exhibition in Amity International School, Gurugram. At the National Level Science Exhibition also, the students secured first prize in the Waste Management category.
At Klorofeel School, we encourage students to take such projects and we are proud that in three short years, our students excel in thinking and problem solving at the national stage.
